Did Jesus have the conservative evangelical inerrant view of scripture that nothing should be changed or added? Clearly not, he challenged conventional wisdom such as regarding the sabbath. Regarding love of neighbor he clarified

• “43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:43-44).”
