Cases for God: A Short Bibliography

There are hundreds or thousands of books that discuss arguments for and/or against the existence of God. You will never be able to read them all!

However, if you read a few books by Christian apologists who are philosophers, and who present a case for the existence of God (consisting of multiple arguments for God), then you will be in a good position to evaluate a number of important arguments for the existence of God. If none of these arguments is a good and strong argument, then you may reasonably conclude that it is unlikely that anyone has proven that God exists or made a strong case for the existence of God.

Furthermore, once you have carefully examined a number of arguments for the existence of God, for example, the 20 arguments presented by Peter Kreeft and Ronald Tacelli in their Handbook of Christian Apologetics, and determine that ALL of those arguments have serious flaws and errors, then it will become easier to detect similar flaws and errors in other arguments for God presented by other Christian apologists.

I plan to work my way through at least five cases for the existence of God presented by Christian apologists who are philosophers, analyzing and clarifying their arguments, and then critically evaluating those arguments, and determining whether any arguments are good and strong and whether any cases are solid cases.

Here are some well-known Christian apologists (who are philosophers) and their cases for God, that I plan to work my way through:

CASES FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD

A. Peter Kreeft and Ronald Tacelli (Handbook of Christian Apologetics, 1994, Chapter 3)
B. Norman Geisler (When Skeptics Ask, 1990, Chapter 2; I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist, 2004, co-authored with Frank Turek, Chapters 3 through 7)
C. Gary Habermas and Terry Miethe (Why Believe? God Exists!, 1993)
D. William Craig (Reasonable Faith, 3rd edition, 2008, Chapter 7; How Do We Know God Exists?, 2022)
E. Edward Feser (Five Proofs of the Existence of God, 2017)

If Peter Kreeft, Norman Geisler, Gary Habermas, William Craig, and Edward Feser all FAIL to make a solid case for the existence of God, then that would provide good reason to believe that NOBODY has produced a solid case for the existence of God.
